The District 1 Education Conference is scheduled for Monday, October 19, 2026 through Thursday, October 22, 2026 with checkout on Friday, October 23rd at The John S. Knight Center located at 77 East Mill Street, Akron, OH 44308.

Conference Registration Fees

Early–Bird Registration: $250 per delegate if received by September 15, 2026

Registration Fee of $300 per delegate after September 15, 2026

Shuttle service will be provided daily to and from your hotel to the John S. Knight Center. Conference registration will be held at the John S. Knight Center on Sunday, October 18^th from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM and Monday, October 19^th from 6:30 AM until 8:30 AM. Please refer to the schedule above to see all of the classes being offered. A reception will also be held at the John S. Knight Center with beverages and appetizers on Sunday evening from 6:00 PM through 9:00 PM.

There will be a breakfast buffet served at the John S. Knight Center each morning from Monday: 6:30 AM – 8:30 AM and then daily at 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM. We will have a reception on Tuesday evening at the Greystone Mansion which is located directly across from the John S. Knight Center. Our Banquet will be held on Thursday evening at the John S. Knight Center. Delegates will be on their own for dinner on Monday and Wednesday evenings.

Please be sure to complete the registration form and return it with your registration fee as soon as possible. Please make your check payable to “District 1 Activities Fund” and mail to the USW Sub-District 1 Office, 25111 Miles Road, Suite H, Warrensville Heights, Ohio 44128 and return your form and registration fee no later than September 23rd.

PLEASE BE SURE TO SUBMIT YOUR REGISTRATION FORM AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE. RESERVING YOUR HOTEL ROOM DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOUR REGISTRATION TO THE CONFERENCE. We want to make sure all Members will be able to attend this very important Education Conference. All lost time and expenses for each Member is the responsibility of the Local Union.

Conference registration is on Sunday, October 18th from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM and Monday, October 19th from 6:30 AM until 8:30 AM.

We are also asking that each Member bring their Local Union Contract to the Conference for their use in different workshops. We will be providing Constitutions to all Members.
